I decided to give Elemental another go this morning. Finally, I managed to get together enough resources to build huts and increase my population, and my settlement began to grow. I even randomly figured out how to equip my sovereign, a full hour since I bought the equipment in the store. Once you find the screen, it's a simple enough matter to drag and drop the weapon onto your ruler. I could live with the weird limitation of not being able to equip my ruler with more than one weapon ...
Ok, so I talked this morning about the experience of loading Elemental. I will mention that Stardock has released a patch that seems to have resolved some of the load issues. The game is loading much more quickly, and the dragon is only appearing on my screen for a second or so. However there's a basic issue about Elemental that it's going to be extremely difficult to address, which is hard to work out a reason to keep playing in this game, which I think may be the result of the lack ...
Ok, I've had another play session this morning with Elemental, and my experiences were more positive, but in my opinion so far, this game is not worth the price I paid for it. I can say at least that the game didn't bug out on me this morning. I created a new game this morning and started playing. First you see a static image of a dragon which stays on your screen for a long time with no clue of when it's going to end. Then if you chose not to watch their intro, a static image of a ...
Ok, I know I'm the master of my own fate here, and I made the decision to give Elemental a go despite the mixed reviews, so I have no one to blame but myself. I'm half an hour into playing Elemental and already, I'm finding it tedious. Firstly, I opened the game onto the "Create your Ruler" screen, which went smoothly enough. The graphics themselves are not impressive, they're fairly reminiscent of the old Sims Creator that we used in Sims 1 days. I mention ...
I've been dithering about buying Elemental: War of Magic for about a week now. The reviews have been mixed to say the least. Neoseeker. Gamespot 1Up Some critics have said that the game was too ambitious, tries to do too much and doesn't succeed. Others have said that the AI is either too easy or not hard enough (I still can't work that one out!) Things have gotten so confusing and contradictory with the statements people have made ...
