Easy SecuROM Removal using the SecuBeGone batch file.

1. Ensure you've downloaded SecuBeGone from here.
2. Unzip the file.
3. Ensure you install CCleaner. CCleaner is a very safe program that helps you to clean out temporary files and registry files from your PC. CCleaner Instructions on how to use it if you’re not sure.
4. Put the SecuBeGone file and RegDelNull in a folder where you can find it easily (I would suggest your desktop). SecuBeGone and RegDelNull need to be in the same folder for Uninstall to work properly.
5. Doubleclick on the SecuBeGone file. Windows will ask if you want to run the tool. Click “Run”.

6. The tool will run and you will see a black screen. You may periodically get messages asking you to press any key. What this message means is press any key on your keyboard and the tool will work. If you get this message at any point in the process, press your Spacebar and SecuBeGone will continue running. (I got the request twice)
alt

7. Then you might get pop up boxes stating things like “DllUnregisterServer in CmdLineExt.dll succeeded” and it will give you the option to press OK. This means that the tool has succeeded in removing some of the files from your registry. Press OK and the tool will continue running.

8. If you get error messages at any stage, don't be concerned. Not all versions of SecuROM contain all SecuROM files. Continue with the above steps until the tool completes the process. However we still have more steps to follow before SecuROM is completely removed from your PC.

9. Run CCleaner. The tool will default to the “Cleaner” part of the program, so you need to click the “Registry” button down the right hand side to open up the Registry part of the program.
alt

10. At the bottom left of the tool you will see a button “Scan for Issues” click that button and CCleaner will find the CmdLineExt.dll file in your registry.
alt

11. Click the button on the bottom right hand side that says “Fix selected issues”. A pop up box will then appear that says “Do you want to backup changes to the registry”. Click Yes.
alt

12. After clicking “Yes” it will bring up a new box. Select where you’d like to save the backup file to and click on “Save
alt

13. A popup box will then come up asking about ActiveX/COM issues. When you see this box, click “Fix Issue”. Then click “Close” on the box and close down CCleaner.
alt
Now restart your PC to make sure everything is completed and your PC recognizes the changes.

Congratulations, SecuROM is now removed from your PC.

This is not to be used for commercial purposes and I cannot make any guarantees as each system setup is different. Althoughthis software is relatively safe to use, there is no way to confirm it will work for certain on your Windows PC.
