    5. Testing

RYG is happy to report that we've completed the final testing of the initial testing of StarForce. This time was to test their Disc version.

We've been working alongside StarForce for many months and are very pleased with the testing results from the last round when we tested their ‘FrontLine ProActive’ but we're also very happy with the results of this last lot of testing for their 'FL Universal FL Disc Pro' & 'FL Universal FL ProActive Pro', both were included for testing using their disc based version, unlike the last round of tests which was done via download.

As you can see from the Summary images below, 'StarForces's FrontLine Universal FL Disc Pro' passed 4 out of 8 components and 'StarForce's FrontLine Universal FL ProActive Pro' still passed 6 out of 8 components.

Full comments are included on each of the testing forms and are available for download.

StarForce once again proves through these testings that their DRM has improved immensely over the years and is still being improved to this day. StarForce is currently hard at work with the development of a newer type/version of their protection and we wish them the best of luck in succeeding in making it end user friendly.

Download the full testing report for StarForces's FrontLine Universal FL Disc Pro (see attachment - below).

    2. Testing

RYG has been working alongside StarForce for quite a few months, particularly with one of their DRM Systems – ‘FrontLine ProActive’ – and we have now completed the testing of two of the games they're protecting, Home-Sweet-Home and Commander. Both versions of FrontLine ProActive used within these two games passed 6 out of 8 components, which is a VERY big step forward for StarForce from the old days and it's a very positive outlook for them.

    StarForce's Responce:

Dmitry Guseff, VP of Marketing for Starforce, says,
"We are very delighed with the testing results."
"However, we have some space to evolve and I can assure everyone that we definitely will evolve. The most toughest things are behind - StarForce has changed and now, I believe, moves in the right direction."

"We managed to rebuild our DRM to become more convenient, safe and, most importantly, transparent, which was pretty hard as we have managed to keep the protection-performance on a very high level."

"It was a big pleasure to work with RYG team, I love their professionalism and keeping promises. I’m sure that we will continue. Want to say thank you to all the RYG testers and admins."
Likewise, it's been a pleasure working with Dmitry Guseff, VP of Marketing at StarForce and we look forward to working with him again in the near future.

StarForce are very happy for us to share the full testing results for Commander and Home, Sweet Home.

When the staff of RYG started to hear of the problems users of Borderlands were having with the game installing while on-line and playing it, we decided to do some research and test the DRM.
Borderlands utilizes SecuROM in both versions - Base Game (Disc Version & Digital Download) the DLC including the 1.1.0 Patch.

We've NOW validated the results by using a second tester that was willing to purchase the disc version of Borderlands and the DLC. Below is the revision summary report.

The staff of RYG / Prism / Project-RYG
